Many years ago we started fighting
Didn't we know then what we know now

We conquered each others for the land of our mothers
Bonaparte, Cortez and Churchill; it wasn't their will
We still kill

Hiroshima bombing to night, Nagasaki tomorrow
The innocent japs lay dead on floor
and the allies will win this second world war
Today we have weapons and guns
Not as cold as it were for the huns

The Muslims called it "jihad"
as they were slaughtered in the desert mud
Now we're dead as Dillinger and cannot afford the girl
That suffered and gave her soul
for her house blown to big black hole

They fought for their religion too
but we fight for nothing, nothing
